CBD oil dosage: How much should you take?
No doubt that by now you have read about a large number of potential benefits of taking CBD, but what is the CBD oil dosage that you should be taking to see results?

CBD is one of around sixty active, naturally occurring chemical compounds in the cannabis plant, Cannabis sativa. These chemical compounds are known as cannabinoids, and they affect your body through their interaction with your own endocannabinoid system (ECS). The ECS is a signaling system of sorts, which helps your body to maintain proper homeostasis.
CBD oil offers a number of potential benefits to users without getting them ‘high’, since it contains no THC. THC (tetrahydrocannabinol) is a psychoactive cannabinoid compound- one that people most commonly associate with marijuana use. CBD oil does not contain THC, making it a safe, non-psychoactive supplement that research suggests may help with:

What does the scientific research say about CBD oil dosage?
CBD oil has been the topic of many scientific research studies in recent years. Whilst the body of research is constantly growing, there is still a lot to be learned about CBD.
A recent review of the literature conducted in 20171 suggested that CBD oil is a safe treatment. The review also highlighted the fact that there isn’t one universal CBD oil dosage that is correct for everyone, but rather, that different people and different animals (from the animal studies that were included in the review) respond to different CBD oil dosages.
Common CBD oil dosage rate for individuals is between 5-50mg per day.
How to determine the right CBD oil dosage for you?
There are a number of variables to factor into consideration when aiming to determine what CBD oil dosage is right for you. These variables will include things such as:
- Your body weight
- The condition you’re wanting to treat, or whether you’re looking for general health benefits
- Your body chemistry, unique to you.
If you are currently on any medications, you should have a discussion with your doctor, as this may also impact upon the CBD oil dosage that you should take.
The majority of Transcending Organics CBD oil products are dosed at between 33-42mg per 1ml serve (see individual product labelling for the concentration in the product you have purchased). Unless your doctor has recommended otherwise, we suggest starting off at 1ml per day. You can then choose to increase slightly (by 0.2ml, for example) if you need to do so, on a weekly basis, until you reach a point where you are experiencing your desired effect.
It is a good idea to keep track of the CBD oil dosage that you are taking, by writing it down somewhere or keeping notes in your phone, along with any comments on your symptoms and whether they are improving along the way at different doses.
What happens if the CBD oil dosage you take is too high?
In 2011, there was a review2 conducted on the safety and side effects of taking a high CBD oil dosage. The study concluded that even at very high doses (1500mg per day) and taken over extended periods of time, CBD oil is well tolerated by humans.
A subsequent review on the safety and side effects of cannabidiol conducted in 20171 also confirmed this.
