FAQ

CBD IN GENERAL.

What is CBD oil?

CBD stands for Cannabidiol and refers to the the major cannabinoid found in cannabis. It is an oil that is extracted from the flowers and leaves of the cannabis/hemp plant. CBD oil is naturally occurring in the plant and typically goes through a process of winterization and short path distillation until it is in its purest form for use as CBD oil.

Can you explain Cannabinoids, Endocannabinoids and Phytocannabinoids?

Most of the benefits associated with cannabis come from cannabinoids. They are the active compounds produced by all cannabis plants. Cannabinoids found in plants are referred to as Phytocannabinoids, while cannabinoids produced by the human body are called Endocannabinoids. Everyone has Endocannabinoids and an Endocannabinoid System (ECS) in their body regardless of whether they use cannabis or not. The ECS has been linked to balancing processes such as sleep, mood, appetite, stress, chronic pain, memory and fertility. Phytocannabinoids have the potential to interact with the body’s ECS to help achieve homeostasis (the body’s internal balance of processes).

How does CBD work in the body?

CBD’s effects are a result of its interaction with the Endocannabinoid System. CBD is thought to impact the ECS by binding to the endocannabinoid receptors.

What is the difference between hemp and marijuana?

Hemp and marijuana are both types of cannabis, however Marijuana contains a cannabinoid known as THC, which is responsible for making you “high”. Hemp contains negligible amounts of THC, not likely to cause any form of high. Transcending Organics products undergo strict filtration protocols to remove THC from the final product, ensuring our CBD is lawful and will not have any psychoactive effect.

Are there any negative side effects associated with taking CBD?

CBD is often well-tolerated particularly at moderate doses. No customers have reported any negative side-effects to date. Regardless of this, we always recommend consulting your medical practitioner before use.

INGREDIENTS AND DOSAGE.

Where is your CBD sourced?

The hemp used in Transcending Organics products is grown in the US.

How much CBD should I take?

Recommended dosage varies from individual to individual with the common range between 5 to 50 milligrams per day. Majority of Transcending Organics products are dosed at 33-42mg per serve. If you are unsure of your individual tolerance to CBD, we recommend speaking to your medical health practitioner.

When should I take it?

CBD has been used successfully by our customers at all times of the day including first thing in the morning, before and after exercise, and before bed. We recommend testing different times to see what you prefer.

How can I be sure of the quality I am getting?

Simply email us requesting a HPLC purity report and we will happily provide you with the report for most current batch to put your mind at ease.

Will I get high/is there any THC?

Transcending Organics products undergo strict filtration protocols to remove psychoactive THC from the final product, ensuring our CBD is lawful and will not have any psychoactive effect.

I play sports/have a job where I get drug tested. Is this an issue?

Testing protocols vary depending on your workplace, the sporting level at which you compete and the country you are in. Typically, THC is tested for particularly in competitive sports and not CBD, however you should always check with your governing body to be sure.
It is important to note that Full Spectrum products contain non-psychoactive traces of THC in lawful amounts (<0.3mg), which in some cases can produce a false positive reading. If you are concerned that this might be an issue, we strongly suggest sticking with our Isolate products.

Terpenes. What are they and why do you use them?

Simply, Terpenes are what give plants their smell, such as the citrus in orange. However Terpenes are not simply aromas, and are responsible for a variety of effects, such as the sense of relaxation associated with lavender and other plants used in aromatherapy. The Terpenes used in our CBD are a class of volatile hydrocarbon compounds produced in the flower clusters of the cannabis plant. When used together with CBD the effect experienced can be enhanced, often referred to as the Entourage Effect which is why we choose to use whole plant extract, containing terpenes and CBD. Terpenes are recognized as safe for human consumption by the Food and Drug Administration and are are already being used in a wide variety of food and cosmetic products.

FLAVOR AND CONSISTENCY.

Why can the flavor vary slightly with each batch?

It’s important to remember that the hemp plant is a natural product and therefore varies from harvest to harvest. This means that the proportion of terpenes can sometimes differ slightly, adjusting the flavor from sometimes more grassy to less grassy. It is the same way that the content of Vitamin C differs from orange to orange. This is part of ensuring you receive a whole plant extract in our Full Spectrum CBD range. Don’t worry though, we always ensure a minimum quantity of Terpenes in every product, and guarantee the same amount of CBD.

Your CBD Isolate has no flavor. Is there still CBD in it?

Of course! Our CBD Isolate contains 1000mg CBD per bottle. When mixed into 30ml of MCT Oil, it becomes effectively flavorless.

My CBD Oil has gone cloudy, is there something wrong with it?

If you’ve just received your product and you’re experiencing cold weather in your country right now, rest assured that your product is ok! The explanation and solution are actually very simple! The naturally present lipids in your oil have solidified in the cold and the CBD may have separated from the carrier oil, creating a cloudy appearance. Most likely, your product has been exposed to extreme weather conditions in transit/while sitting in courier warehouses. The solution is simple – your CBD Oil needs to be heated to return to its clear state. Here’s how to do it:
Method 1 – bring water to boiling temperature. Place your CBD bottle in the water (don’t submerge the plastic lid). Leave it in the hot water for approx. 5 minutes or until you can see it’s returned to a clear liquid.
Method 2 – microwave the bottle for 10 seconds at a time. Usually 2-3 times is enough.

DELTA 9 THC.

What is Delta 9 THC?

Delta 9 THC (Tetrahydrocannabinol) is a naturally occurring compound found in cannabis plants. It’s one of many cannabinoids and is primarily responsible for the “high” sensation typically associated with cannabis.

Are your Delta 9 THC products legal?

Yes, absolutely! All of our Delta 9 THC products contain levels within the legal limit defined by federal law. The Agriculture Improvement Act of 2018, often referred to as the “2018 Farm Bill,” federally legalized hemp and its derivatives, provided that it contains less than 0.3% Delta 9 THC on a dry weight basis.

What does the ‘legal limit’ of Delta 9 THC mean?

Under the 2018 Farm Bill, hemp-derived products (like CBD and certain forms of THC) are legal to manufacture, sell, and consume as long as they contain no more than 0.3% Delta 9 THC by dry weight.

Do your products adhere to these regulations?

Yes, they do. Our products are rigorously tested to ensure they fall within the federal legal limit of less than 0.3% Delta 9 THC. This is part of our commitment to transparency, legality, and quality.

How does Delta 9 THC affect me?

Delta 9 THC is psychoactive, and responsible for the “high” feeling often associated with cannabis products.

What is the difference between Delta 9 THC and CBD?

Both Delta 9 THC and CBD (cannabidiol) are cannabinoids found in cannabis plants. However, they have different effects. While Delta 9 THC is psychoactive, CBD is not, and it is often used for its potential therapeutic benefits.

Will your Delta 9 THC products show up on a drug test?

While our products are within the legal limits of Delta 9 THC, it’s possible that they could show up on a drug test. Most drug tests are designed to detect metabolites of THC and do not distinguish between levels of THC concentration. Therefore, even the minimal amount of Delta 9 THC present in our products could potentially result in a positive test. If you are subject to drug testing, we recommend consulting with your employer or the testing entity before using any hemp-derived products. Please remember, if you have any medical concerns or take any medications, consult with a healthcare professional before using products that contain Delta 9 THC.
